Weekly Update 2/26

Good morning, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy 100th day of School! We did it!

Monday- D day and Library
Tuesday- A day
Wednesday- B day
Thursday- C day 
Friday- D day and WTW test

Writing- We are continuing to work on writing reviews on places and things.

Spelling- We are taking our test on Friday.

Math- We will be testing over greater than, less than, place value, and more on Tuesday. We will review beforehand but I am confident that they will do just fine!

Social Studies- We are finishing up our unit on needs and wants.


Below is a note from Mrs. Black about our Valentine's Day party.

Dear Parents,

I am planning the Valentine party for our children and would very much appreciate your input.

Please email me at kbandwb@swbell.net if you have any ideas for games, food, favors, or other things to make the party fun. I'm still in the brainstorming stage, so please don't worry if your idea is perfect, and don't feel like you're committing to do it.

Weekly Update 1/20

Good afternoon- Hope everyone had a great 3 day weekend.

Tuesday- D day and Author Visit
Wednesday- A day
Thursday- B day
Friday- Library

Writing- Collections are home and we are starting to write reviews!

Math- We are still working on 10 more and 10 less along with counting to 120 and using that big number in a place value chart! 

Words their Way- New word sorts are coming home today, please refer to the Words their Way blog post on how to sort these if you have questions. 

Social Studies- We are talking about needs and wants, good and services, and factory and workers. Next time they are at the story they should know the difference between needing and wanting something! :) 

Jump Rope for Heart Ducks days are:
1/22, 1/27, and 1/29


Lastly, you will see a parent letter in your folders that introduces our new student teacher. We are so excited to have Ms. Fendler- oh, the things we can do with 2 teachers! :)

Friday- D day, LIBRARY, and Words their Way test!

Math- We are counting using coins so we are counting by 5's and 10's.

Writing- We are practicing writing about our second favorite piece of our collection and are trying to convince the reader. 

Words their Way- Test Friday!

Social Studies- We are talking about needs, wants, goods, and services!

Happy New Year!! I can't believe this wonderful break is over and it's already 2015! Hope you all had a great time!

Words their Way- New lists will be coming home on Monday. Please check the Words their Way blog post to help with the categories. Text will be in two weeks.

Writing-We are starting our next unit on Opinion writing. Students will be brining home a gallon ziploc bag today with this note. We will be using the items in our opinion writing. We will be talking about which we like the best and why and how we can convince others about our items. Please bring these back Wednesday! 

Math- We are continuing out unit on counting by fives and tens! 

Field Trip- Don't forget to send in the permission slips with the $7.50 for our trip on Monday!
